{"id":4136,"date":"2025-11-10T15:52:27","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T15:52:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.weidmannfibertechnology.com\/?p=4136"},"modified":"2025-11-25T15:58:05","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T15:58:05","slug":"inspiring-collaboration-creative-exploration-with-fiber-based-material-at-the-rietveld-academie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.weidmannfibertechnology.com\/de\/news\/inspiring-collaboration-creative-exploration-with-fiber-based-material-at-the-rietveld-academie\/","title":{"rendered":"Inspiring Collaboration: Creative Exploration with Fiber-Based Material at the Rietveld Academie"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Weidmann Fiber Technology is proud to collaborate with the <a href=\"https:\/\/rietveldacademie.nl\/en\/page\/381\/architectural-design\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Architectural Design department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam<\/a>, supporting the next generation of designers with our fiber-based material.<\/strong> The partnership connects material innovation with creative exploration, bringing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weidmannfibertechnology.com\/maplex\/#board\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Maplex Board<\/a>, into the hands of students eager to challenge conventions in design, while satisfying their desire to keep sustainable materials at the forefront of their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are grateful to the Academie and its students for their openness and willingness to experiment with Maplex, a sustainable fiber-based material with outstanding versatility. Their projects demonstrate not only the creative potential of Maplex, but also the role of material choices in shaping a more sustainable design future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the past year, graduating students from the Architectural Design department showcased remarkable projects that incorporated Weidmann&#8217;s fiber-based material, from paneling and shelving to experimental installations, demonstrating the strength, formability, and aesthetic possibilities of this unique material. Their achievements highlight how technical performance and design vision can come together to deliver innovative, creative outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With support from Nick Axel (Department Head) and Marian Rosa van Bodegraven (Department Assistant), students from the Department of Architectural Design submitted their 2025 Graduation Projects using Maplex Board, as well as reclaimed wood. Students Ma\u00efder Hastoy, Max Purdon, and Sara Darle Olsson selected Weidmann\u2019s biodegradable and recyclable Maplex board in their designs, drawn to their aesthetic appeal and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a new school year begins, we look forward to seeing how this collaboration will continue to spark new ideas, foster sustainable design practices, and inspire projects that push the boundaries of creativity.
